Nightlife

Both visitors and residents can find in Torrevieja the best offer as far as nightlife is concerned, for every age and nationality. For the youngest ones, the Baluarte area counts on many small bars where you can enjoy a drink to the rythm of the latest musical trends. And then you have the cafeterias for a coffee or a drink anytime of day. The different styles give a peculiar touch to the place. That is why many people come from Murcia or Alicante to enjoy the nightlife of Torrevieja in the summer. Late at night you can visit the avenida Habaneras where you will find some more bars or the big discos in the outskirts of town. And don´t forget to visit the establishments with typical flavours from different countries. In Torrevieja you can find an English pub that serves a "Rolls Royce", a German beer saloon, or a mexican restaurant where you can have a "mojito".

Beaches

The fine white sand of Torrevieja beaches is one of the main attractions for tourists, as well as the calmness of the waters. The beaches count on upkeeping all year round, and that together with the mild weather also in winter makes it usual to find groups of sunbathers on the Torrevieja beaches this time of year. However it is during the summertime when you can find the best choice for leisure.

Gastronomy

You'll also find the flavour of the sea in Torrevieja's cooking. The " arroz caldero " is the typical dish. Its essential ingredients are rice and fish. Grilled sardines, rice with anchovy, cooked mackerel, ray, sea bream and codfish are other delicacies you can eat in Torrevieja's restaurants. It may not be so easy to find "pelotas" - meat balls, one of the famous meals of the Costa Blanca in our restaurants. Lots of people traditionally eat them for Christmas day. They are made of meat, spices and consomm�. You can discover and taste all kinds of brand new culinary styles prepared by the different restaurants of the town during the celebration of the "gastronomical days" which last for 5 days in March. Since Torrevieja started participating in these kinds of gastronomical events, such as in Stockholm in 1999, its cooking has become international.

Specialized cooking is also to be found downtown. It is located in many restaurants which offer everything from vegetarian to international food: Indian, French, German, Chinese, Korean, Scandanavian, Serbian, Croat, Mexican, Russian, Arabic, Belgium, Norwegian, the list is endless.
