Vergel Safari Park Vergel is a must to see exotic wild animals in a natural environment. Take the N322 and follow the signs towards Valencia, turning off to Pego on the C-311 just after Ondara. As you enter the park gates your adventure begins with a drive through wide open natural terrain surrounded by lions and tigers basking in the sun. This safari section leads to an open area where you can walk freely to watch the monkeys, apes, ostriches, wolves, zebras and many other animals. The park also has a reptile house, aviary, sea lion and parrot show. It is extremely well maintained and has excellent facilities including a restaurant, bars and a very good picnic area. The Safari Aitana Park The Safari Aitana Park is about 35 km from Benidorm. Take the road from Villajoyosa to Sella, passing through Orxeta. The park is about 15 km after Sella near the town of Penaguila. The Safari Aitana park is beautifully located high in the Aitana range of mountains, and occasionally gets snowfalls in the winter. The visitor can follow a set trail arround the park to see tigers, lions, elephants, buffalo and many other wild animals. Dacktari Park. Another area of the park, called Dacktari Park, is used as a nursery to raise new born animals. Other facilities include a picnic area and a rustic-style restaurant specialising in local fare. Discounts are offered when booking online. Terra Natura Terra Natura lies in another vast area of mountainside next to its better known neighbour, Terra Mitica. Although the theme park has over 700 metres of water slides it is essentially an animal park divided according to continent. Each continent sector is home to the animals, people and vegetation native to it. You'll even find typical dishes of the region in that sector's restaurants. It's a fabulous day out for children who see Terra Natura as a theme park whilst gaining great educational value from thevisit as they learn about new continents. They can marvel at their surroundings in total security as the park has been cleverly built so that you can wander very close to the animals without being in any danger. Within each sector there are a selection of interesting shows and rides. You can take a train ride around the park or for the more adventurous take a Tarzan like trip over the elephant enclosure on a zip wire. And if you survive how about going swimming with baby sharks! For many parents the water park is a highlight of the day as you can escape the temperatures you've experienced in the safari park area as you settle down on a sunbed in the water park after lunch. Located next to an enormous lake sized swimming pool, the water slides and the children's play area this a great spot to relax where you can still keep an eye on the kids. Terra Natura is a truly excellent family day out. |
